Bit of a last minute thing, but CK WAM is going to be in Leeds on the weekend of 14th September, so he and I are going to co-host a mini-splunch at one of the Wetherspoons' pubs in the city centre.
Venue is the Cuthbert Brodrick, which is the one facing onto Millenium Square next to the Civic Hall.
Am hoping to grab a table upstairs on the internal balcony. Details of how to identify our table will be posted later but if all else fails look for the long haired guy in a dark boilersuit and Goth boots.
Getting there: From Leeds Railway Station head straight North up Park Row, you'll pass several large banks (this is the core of Leeds' banking and business district) and a Wetherspoons' pub called "Becketts Bank". Keep going and eventually you'll see that weird rugby-ball / crashing space-ship thing on the right of the attached image directly ahead, outside the Leeds City Museum. The pub is the large Yorkshire Stone building behind the sculpture, looking over Millennium Square.
Times: I'll try and be there from about 2/3ish, CK will be joining us about 5ish.
As with all splunches, this is just a friendly vanilla pub meet, no sploshing or wamming will be taking place, though if people want to make private arrangements for later in the evening that's fine. Given the Moomin's big event is the following week we're not expecting anyone to travel or a large turnout, but Leeds is a major commercial city and has numerous good hotels if anyone does want to stay the night.
